This is Chiba Eriko, a 17-year-old third year who goes to Koriyama-kita and comes from Fukushima. Footage is from a show that aired from late 2001 to early 2003 called Downtown Seven. Himaruya went to the same high school and was 17 past his birthday in 2002.
I was unsure whether I wanted to post this or not, but 2ch has dug up some rather private and personal information that I will not post. If you find the threads discussing this matter, I advise you to keep the said information to yourself, or better yet, not read the threads at all.
I must thank a friend of mine for discovering this.
I was originally gonna keep this to just my likes, but I know its gonna spread like wild fire around the fandom anyway.

These were missed, so I thought I’d scan them. Many thanks to misawashi for the wonderful scans of the volume. Having scanned for previous volumes, I know it’s a lot of work.

Somebody’s probably already posted something like this, but can I just say that I have a feeling these two are gonna be Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
And you know why I think that? Check out this quote from the Hetalia Wiki:
When later asked by a fan if Czechoslovakia would be brothers, Himaruya appeared to favor Czech and Slovakia being a duo of the young girl and older male.
Couple that with the fact that the girl’s outfit is reminiscent of a traditional Czech dress, and I think I’ve got myself a solid theory here.

It’s confirmed these are characters from his other comic, since Hetalia isn’t the only manga he works on. Himaruya has also said he just likes Central European traditional clothes and tends to dress random characters in it, so….yeah.

Wait where was it confirmed that these two where characters from his other comics?
I’m not saying you’re wrong, its just that I’ve actually read his other comics, (well, the ones that have been translated anyway) and they don’t really look like anyone from Chibi-san Date or Kitakou or anything else he’s done @_@
I think the Czechoslovakia theory is still pretty valid, but at the same time I don’t think Himaruya would introduce new characters so nonchalantly. My guess is that these are probably recent concept art for them, (in the same vain of the Portugal images) but probably not the actual characters themselves.
As far as I know, there’s no confirmation of who these people are, just a lot of fans speculating.
I would really like that purple dress. Anyone have any idea who these guys are supposed to be?

Himaruya has nothing to do with the anime.
I mean its possible he has some influence?? But Studio DEEN and whoever is gonna direct it/the animators/whoever green-lit the new season; those‘re the people you might want to thank XD
and of course I’m sure fandom support had a lot to do with it too but yeah c:
The second question in this column explains a mangaka’s involvement in an anime pretty well - that its very, very limited, if they’re even involved at all. (Cases like what happened with Polar Bear’s Cafe are extremely rare).
Does the fact that Birz has been publishing Himaruya’s Hetalia comics not count as him doing something?

Yeah, this. I get people missing his blog entries (I do too), but I see people worried that he’s not even alive anymore because he hasn’t updated the event. Even though we’ve had the Birz strips put up and translated and everything. O_o
He’s working on the Hetalia strips for Comic Birz, Chibisan Date for Comic Spica, volume five, possibly other stuff I’m forgetting. He’s not totally gone.
